What to Expect at This Store

Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.

What to Bring

  • Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
  • Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
  • Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
  • Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers

How It Works

  1. 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
  2. 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
  3. 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
  4. 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance

Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:

Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

These people are not a good business, they came to my house repeatedly harassed my landlord harassed my job all for $80. Conversations were had and deals were made about time frames and they did not adhere to agreements made. I would not rent from them ever again or recommend them ever my landlord is a 60 some year old retired army vet and doesn't need that stuff in his life. I'm sure they'll be back lash for me making this about this crappy company byt they charged $1,500 for an outdated TV that could be bought brand new at Walmart for $400.... I do not recommend these people if I can give them no stars I would and I've been going to them for years and I'll never go back to them again after this treatment from John and his little henchman that he has working for him

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The so-called manager, John Jackson, is hands-down the most unprofessional and flat-out racist person I’ve ever dealt with in a business. After talking to others, it’s clear this isn’t just my experience — he has a history of targeting white customers and treating them with outright hostility. This man doesn’t just call once to remind you of a payment — he harasses you relentlessly, blowing up your phone 10+ times a day. I don’t keep a card on file, so I physically go into the store to pay. Yet, like clockwork, the very morning a payment is due, starting 15 minutes after the store opens at 8 AM, my phone starts ringing off the hook. Before noon, I’ll have over ten missed calls from him. That’s not customer service — that’s harassment. The worst part? While my wife was literally in the hospital delivering our baby, I was one day late on a payment. Instead of showing the slightest bit of decency, John Jackson threatened to sue me and take me to the DA’s office. His exact words were along the lines of: “I’m not sure what money you make on the side, but you needa bring it to me.” Absolutely disgusting and beyond inappropriate. Who talks to a customer like that — especially in a moment like that? This store is a disgrace, and John Jackson is the reason why. He has no respect, no professionalism, and no understanding of basic human decency. Do yourself a favor: stay far away from this Rent-A-Center. There are plenty of other places where you can rent or buy furniture and appliances without being harassed, insulted, and threatened.

I communicated online with them until it came to delivery and they never got back to me so I called them. The guy that answered was asking me questions I had already answered and when he asked me how I wanted to make my payment I told him weekly and he said why when you get paid monthly? I said I was doing the week free then going to pay weekly he still wasn't satisfied and proceeded to ask what if I was late on payment so I asked him why he would say that why would I be late he then said well I don't know what you do on the side so I hung up on him. This line of questioning and assumptions were totally out of line so I took my business elsewhere. I would not recommend them

Very bad customer service treat peaple very disrespectfully and like to lie about arrangements I called because could no longer make payment and let them know to come pick items up they said my pick up time had to be the same time as wen it was delivered that is not true at all I called corporate and was very kind and helpful I gave rent a center times i would be home and they would not do the pick up times wen I was off work and tried to make it look like was not wanting to return items so recorded video and kep cams on merchandise and set on the porch so they could retrieve at any time sad then I had a washer that wasnt behind on payments and they tried to make me return items and said I had to because behind on other items that is wrong and not true i paid for washer and will continue to just because they repo one item doesn’t mean u have to give up the item u paid for and not behind on. I made sure I recorded everything on how I was spoke to by Jon Jackson and the lady employee as well so that was helpful and they call on the day its due early in morning and they come to my house when they knew I was at work tryen to get in house with my minor at home they cannot do that Always CALL corporate wen u have a problem they are very kind and understanding and helpful Jon Jackson and the other employees set rules and policies that are not tru Always Call Corporate especially when it comes to Jon Jackson I don’t know how he’s even still manager the old manager was way better Mike.corporate hopefully sets the policies correct if I wouldn’t have called them they would’ve took a washer that I paid for and not behind on. RAC main offices resolved my issues and very appreciative of that rent a center is not so bad after all I didn’t think they cared but fixed the issues and super nice thank you sooo much.
