What to Expect at This Store

Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.

What to Bring

  • Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
  • Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
  • Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
  • Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers

How It Works

  1. 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
  2. 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
  3. 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
  4. 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance

Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:

Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

Stop sending drivers to my house! The prior tenant that lived here moved out over the summer. The first set of drivers came to my home trying to open my door. I have young children in my home, their behavior was disgusting. Once I told the drivers that the old tenant moved out, they continued to sit in my driveway for another 10 before living. 3 weeks ago another driver was sent to my home. Today a driver parked on my street several homes away for about 5 minutes before pulling off. I called this locations office because it is the closet to my house. I will continue to call until no one shows up anymore. How can’t I not be taken off of a list when I DO NOT RENT FROM RENT A CENTER.

Unscripted Reality

I have gottem items from Rent a Center in Pottstown in the past and fell short on being able to continue payments. I tried to get the items returned but unfortunately am and was not able to so was forced to still pay on them as much as I could, while it wasn’t an all over bad Experiance up til recent, where they offered me a settlement by email and which the settlement offered was inclusive and nondescriptive about what items was considered “Settlement to ownership “ in which I paid having no knowledge that the settlememt was not going to cover “The leased Merchandise “ like the settlememt document stated, which is legal false advertisement, and to those who have received that same letter by no legal means does that require any further payment collection to be collected after “settlement” if they do not clarify in legal language what items are covered and whats not it therefore becomes generalitive and inclusive and means ALL LEASED MERCHANDISE, however this company is continuing to engage in breaching that proposed settlement agreement under the Pennsylvania Fair Trade Act, and Deceptive business’s practices, and to include also acting on unlawful harassment after I explicitly demanded NO CONTACT they persisted to keep calling me every single day Monday - Friday, I tried to talk About this to dewade this week and he kept rudely interrupting me over the phone and laughing at me as I tried to point out the legal nature of the settlememt agreement legal bonding terms and legal language, so as a member of the Pottstown Pennsylvania Community this location is disrespectful to its people and cares none about the contracts it upholds or the agreements it signs, therefore im a question of good faith to question the trust we should have with this company Branch so I would give it a lot of thought before choosing this store location for your needs and wants

Never had a problem with Kathy and Dewad working with me. If I was having financial issues and couldn't make my biweekly payment they would let me make a week payment, or double my payment the next time, or with with me in whatever way they could. They would not call and harass me if I told them my situation. Recently a new account manager took over, he is rude, talks over you, said they no longer allowed short payments if unable to make full payment, and will constantly call and leave messages, got 8 in one day within 6 hours. I was at work, was planning on calling when I could. If this continues, really considering just returning my stuff and going elsewhere. I have been a loyal customer for years.

There’s only a few good employees and ONE good manager so props to HIM. You can’t call with questions hoping to get answers because they are quick to rush you off the phone and argue you down instead of trying to find a solution to the problem. Ive had previous issues where my charger had a short in it and thankfully I was able to get the one qualified manager on the phone to solve the problem the first time but after that, it was nearly impossible to get any of my questions answered without shutting me down instead of helping me find a solution. I’ve went thru about 3 chargers, two of which I purchased on my own due to the fact that my laptop has a habit of dying so quickly. Two have completely fried due to me having to keep it continuously plugged in to get to a full battery just to take it off for it to die 20 minutes later and having to repeat this cycle. I have no choice but to keep it on the charger now. I’ve reached out to Cathy about the issue with my charger multiple times but before hearing me out completely she immediately said “there’s nothing we can do “ and basically blamed me for continuously using my laptop on the charger however my laptop dies very quickly when it isn’t on the charger and this has been an ongoing problem. I understand she may not be educated in tech and hardware but laptops can die quickly for numerous reasons including malware, hardware issues, & etc. I’ve done nothing but use my computer which is what I’m paying every week to do…. When I asked why I have to continue to pay for benefits plus she replied that “it was in case it stops working because of normal ware and tear but not because of battery” she did nothing useful in trying to help me find a solution instead she decided to push me off onto the other manager who happens to be on vacation for the next few weeks. I get everyone has bad days but that woman is severely lacking in proper customer etiquette and could really benefit from proper 1on1 customer employee training to learn how to effectively problem solve in a respectful yet satisfactory way. There’s only like one manager that actually goes out his way to help solve the problem so props to him for keeping this place afloat but when he’s not there the service is absolutely horrible. You miss a payment they harass you but yet when you pay on time and Pay for benefits plus and need something as basic as customer service addressed they fail to meet customer needs, it’s sick.
