What to Expect at This Store
Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.
What to Bring
- Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
- Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
- Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
- Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers
How It Works
- 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
- 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
- 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
- 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance
Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:
Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

They make sure you uphold your contract but they do NOT uphold theirs. I've been paying on a broken washer for over a month with one excuse after the other. Extremely unprofessional and absolutely not trustworthy. Actually some of their practices are illegal so I would not bother. There's plenty of other options for you!
Always friendly when spoken on the phone. But the most annoying thing when you miss a payment after ALWAYS being on time and it’s not even a day late and they blow your phone up 2-3 times in a day. One phone call a day will suffice. Obviously the payment will be taken care of but to call 2-3 times a day is ridiculous.
Decent place but if you set up autopay don't! I've been auto paying and the one time I call in and ask them not to I'm told they wouldn't charge me until I call in. Well they took my last $35 dollars anyways and when I called in about it they said the payment would be reversed. Well it wasn't and now I have to borrow more money just to get to work to get my next check. So thanks for screwing me over this week!! Update 3/25/25: they gave me a free week but here yet again they charged my card after telling me they would not. Highly recommend not going here and just saving your money so you don't get screwed over.
I have rented from this location for YEARS. I have paid off multiple items and given this company thousands of dollars at an astronomical mark up. So far I have paid off a computer, a bed, a sectional sofa, two PlayStation 5's and never once missed a payment. Just recently I had a baby via c-section and ended up with a serious life threatening infection leaving me hospitalized and my husband at the hospital with me off of work. We called ahead and discussed our situation with them even offering a double payment the next week to make up for it. They would not work with us at all and charged us almost $30 in late fees. They'll take the bed I'm resting on right out from under me before working with me. The PlayStation 5's we paid off didn't even come with all the parts. They were used, but we still paid double the market value as a new one. They told us they would provide the missing pieces and never did. We forgave that and moved on. Our bed we have now has a mattress too small for the frame that didn't come with the set but they didn't have the one that came with it. The mattress keeps sliding under the headboard because it's much too thin. $4000 total for something half ass. Yet they won't make it right. They do however harass you for payment even if it isn't due and spam with phone calls and junk mail trying to convince you to buy more and more and more. No grace, no forgiveness, and poor business. Once I have paid off what I have I will be taking my business elsewhere. I don't want to work with a company that does not care about their customers.
I have purchased several items throughout the years at both Sandusky and Norwalk Ohio locations and I have always had nothing but great things to say about their customer service and reliability! I even had a power chair that went out on me and they came and picked it right up and fixed it and brought it back, no questions asked! Would recommend to anyone in need of a payment plan.
