What to Expect at This Store
Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.
What to Bring
- Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
- Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
- Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
- Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers
How It Works
- 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
- 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
- 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
- 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance
Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:
Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

Kenny was very kind and helpful. He made the experience seem worthwhile, and easy.
Place went to crap, really. Refusing to rent to a current and paid customer. Especially ridiculous when it's due to nothing that would even impact them or their payments and had already been resolved. Pathetic. Returning the other item this week.
These guys just can't get anything right Again I have to call down there To have them stop sending me this junk mail in the mail That I gotta wheel myself down in a wheelchair to the mailbox to find out there's only junk mail in there from Rent-A-Center I called them again last month to tell them to stop talk to some lady she said she was going to pass it on Here we go again more junk mail And I'm getting junk mail for my daughter that doesn't even live here anymore I don't know what it takes to get these people to stop Sending their flyers in junk mail to my mailbox If I want to buy something I'll call them up and buy it Or rent it or whatever I just can't believe the incompetence Of these people what it take to get you people to take me off your flyer junk mail list an act of Congress I'm a disabled veteran my request should be taken care of upon the first phone call
Renting a washer and dryer. Technically the second set from them. The first set was on special, used, and didn't work properly. We got a new set at the same weekly price so they worked with us on it. The new set is wonderful and works great! Final prices are bad but the weekly price isn't terrible. It's 30 bucks a week for the washer and dryer. Store is really small.
My daughter is renting a pre-owned laptop. The staff was great and the selection was pretty good as well. However, after doing research on the item she wanted she was told it was not available when she came in. She settled for another laptop that they recommended at a slightly higher price, after being assured it could handle gaming as well. She had issues from day one, mainly having to delete and reboot as it seems this unit was not refurbished before re-rental. Within a few weeks, the screen began turning black. Knowing that the screen is not covered by warranty, she began researching what was happening and how to (or who could) fix it. Turned out it was due to the laptop being open and on display for so long-no wonder they won't cover the screen, knowing it would be a consistent issue for them. Now the issue is crashing. Now I'm not tech savvy so I'm lost on what this all means but I'm watching my daughter spend the last three days trying to save everything she can. She installed a game and the laptop simply cannot handle it. So with all the money already invested and a screen that won't be covered, she has no options but to pay it off and scrap it. Eight weeks in, $1600 lost, and nothing to show for it. I highly suggest anyone looking for a laptop to just stash away the weekly amount that you would be paying and go buy one outright where you won't be swindled.
