What to Expect at This Store
Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.
What to Bring
- Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
- Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
- Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
- Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers
How It Works
- 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
- 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
- 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
- 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance
Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:
Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

I have nothing but good things to say although I am paying for a handheld gaming system I didn't quite get the one that I wanted and they said that they couldn't get it but then I checked later on and I saw that it is available through Rent-A-Center I wanted the black r o g Ally although instead I got pushed into the white one now it doesn't really require what it is that I need it for my game and now that I realized that it doesn't have the same thing that the black one can do the ryzen Z1 is good but I need the other one a button on the top got broke I sent it in although I still paid the bill for it yesterday but I'm probably just going to exchange it for a washer and dryer for a 120-volt all-in-one system
Such a wonderful bunch of people working in the Claremont store. They all went above and beyond for me. They delivered a day early just because I asked and they were willing to do it. You guys are great.
You guys made it so easy for me so THANK YOU!! Especially the delivery drivers, I few so badly that they had to bring my sofa up FIVE flights of stairs!! You guys are the BEST!! THANKS AGAIN!
Everything has been amazing. The staff at the Claremont NH location have been awesome. Definitely no complaints
RAC is one of those places where you win some and you lose some. In my opinion, you lose slightly more than you win. Pros: >You get the item immediately, vs having to save the money up and THEN buy it. >The items are surprisingly decent quality. I weigh 200+ and I stood on one of drawers out of the dresser and it didn't even bend. >That whole 6-months-same-as-cash thing saves a lot of money. >Doesn't charge interest if you pay off early. >My personal store, everyone is nice and they know me personally so it's fun to stop in and pay and say hi. Cons: >You could just save the money and buy an item outright, not have to worry about paying something every month. But then you have to go months without the item. >The items could be a lot higher quality. They don't break but you can tell it's pressed wood and chinese paint and nasty. >When it comes time to get rid of the RAC item and get a new thing, it's impossible. RAC superglues everything together so you can't unscrew it and bring it to the dumpster. Either gotta throw it away whole or hammer it apart and make a HUGE mess. >You still end up paying a lot more for a lot less even with the 6 months cash deal, just cuz that's the nature of the beast with these kinda businesses. >Doesn't report to your credit score, which I guess could be a good thing if you're bad with payments, but I'm always good with payments so I wish it reported and helped my score. >The insurance thing? Charges you extra each month but then doesn't really cover anything. My table broke last year and they basically told me "oh well, can't replace it, but you can come buy a new one!" and then the same thing with my couch this year. >The spam calls. OMG they call like 3 times a week. It's ridiculous. if I wanted to buy something, I would go there or go to the website. Stop trying to upsell me please.
