What to Expect at This Store
Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.
What to Bring
- Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
- Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
- Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
- Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers
How It Works
- 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
- 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
- 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
- 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance
Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:
Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

When I first met Alvin, the manager, he told me late payments happen and that communication goes a long way. But my actual experience has been the opposite. Even though I’ve paid off one item and kept up with payments (including late fees), I’ve been harassed with threats of legal action if I’m just a week or even a few days late. On top of that, the manager spoke to me disrespectfully, asking if I “had a calendar” like I didn’t understand what he was saying. I feel pressured and belittled, and if it weren’t for my partner wanting the items, I’d stop doing business here.
A bank error caused me to miss my first payment. It was much appreciated to be treated with understanding. They were very helpful and let me know Soon as my stupid bank fixes their error I will could order again. Great service
I went in to get a few things. I did end up getting the items, but had to transfer my order to Niles branch. Why? Customer service. When I went in, a lady was supposed to be helping me. She did everything not to. She told me to fill out the info online, I asked for her help. She just kept shaking her head like she didn't know how to help. Then it was taking a while, I asked how long does it usually take. She shrugged, no answer no help. I asked if she had internet that maybe my internet was slow, she said she did not, that was a lie. I get to the point that I was about to leave and then the manager finally decides to help. He said I can help you put that in and did it within moments. During which the woman goes, " oh we are helping her?" He goes yeah, "we are helping her." Him being the manager, not telling her that is not how you do business. After this i was in and out pretty quickly, trying to ignore the fact I was treated like that. Then my bill comes, I am upset because it wasn't what I was told. In fact, they didn't verbally tell or explain the agreement at all, just sent an email and a few texts to explain it to me. Then I call back after, very upset. The manager didn't like how he was talked to, but in the big picture, I was already miss treated and more upset now. He asked why I was talking thst way, I said I already had a horrible experience and reiterated how his worker treated me already and that he watched her act this way and did nothing about it. He says she lost her husband, okay I am sorry for that, but that doesn't excuse how she talked to a customer. If she isn't ready to be working and talk to people, then she shouldn't be working yet. Either way, worst experience of my life. Happy news, I was able to transfer my order to Niles so I don't have to deal with this again.
I had a great experience at the rent a center store where I went to rent my fridge. I put my trust in the sales clerk to pick me out a side by side fridge, I told him what I was looking for in a fridge and The Nice Young Man looked online for one and when it arrived I was VERY Very HAPPY with what he picked out. He picked out exactly what I was looking for. The 2 young men who delivered the fridge did awesome bringing the fridge into my kitchen....then one of them went and sat in the vehicle and left the other guy to hook it up ( which does not take 2 people to hook up a fridge, but it shows the client that they care about the fridge and customer ) What Matters most is the Family is very happy with the Fridge 😊
I started my account in Indiana years ago and have bought many things from Rent-A-Center over the years. I had always frequented a store in southern Indiana. I did, however, have to move outta state a year or so ago due to serious medical issues. My account was easily transferred to the store at my new location from the one in Indiana upon my move. At both locations the associates have been extremely caring, helpful, understanding and polite. In fact, they have often went above and beyond to help me when I have needed it. I can’t say enough good things about the associates at the 2 particular stores I rented from.
