What to Expect at This Store

Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Aaron's directly to confirm.

What to Bring

  • Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
  • Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
  • Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
  • Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers

How It Works

  1. 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
  2. 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
  3. 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
  4. 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance

Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:

Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

I’d give 0 starts if I could. For one, this is why I don’t like giving my business to stores such as this one because the customer service is TERRIBLE and goodness the level of competence is well BELOW average. I was greeted when I walked in then an associate came meet me in the floor. I informed her that I was looking for a sectional, I already knew what I wanted as I’d already viewed it online, I just wanted to see and feel in person prior to making a decision. The set I viewed online, wasn’t in store. No one offered to check availability at another location either. I was told this is all we have in stock. There was a nice selection of sectionals and I ended up selecting one. I informed the associate the amount I was approved for and asked her to work up the numbers on the set of selected. It went over by a few dollars, but she told me I’d be alright. She asked that I have a seat at the computer and do another application since they see the application at their store. Didn’t allow me to apply again, instead it just welcomed me back and congratulated me on the approved amount. I informed the ladies and I was told “that should be it then.” I continued to browse around as the associates worked in getting documentation and everything prepared for me to sign. I asked to use the restroom and was told to re was not a public restroom. So I’m patiently waiting for information to be gathered to prepare documents. Finally everything is done, I sign everything, and get delivery date and time. Delivery day comes and I’m home ALL day waiting to hear from Aaron’s as they were scheduled to come out between 11am-4pm. After I didn’t hear anything at all, I decided to call Aaron’s it was 3:50pm. I was told the GM had called me to reschedule delivery. I asked why and she stated she needed to get in contact with GM. She placed me on hold for abt 10 minutes, came back and stated she was still trying to get in contact her GM. She came back and stated she’d keep trying and call me right back. I waited abt an hour and called Aaron’s back. The phone rang until it the call was disconnected. No one answered, no one called me back. It’s 5:30, the store closes at 7. No one ever called me back. I called Aaron’s back the following day around 12:30 inquiring abt delivery dates and times. I was told they could deliver the same day between the hours of 3-6. Something came up, and I didn’t want to miss another call or the delivery so I called back to reschedule again. The associate and I went back and forth abt her GM calling me the day prior and due to me missing the call, they moved on to the next person. Ok, let’s just say that did happen, they called and insisted the call. Why didn’t anyone try to call back? Why wasn’t a voicemail left? Was someone ever going to get back with me?? I didn’t have ANY missed calls from Aaron’s. Besides, all of that wasn’t neither here nor there, if I’m calling you for a new delivery date, please don’t try to check me on an attitude. I didn’t have an attitude, but I was annoyed because at this point the WHOLE situation has been an inconvenience for me. I asked her name and the GM name, and she was speaking to me in a mocking manner. I don’t even want the furniture anymore. This is entirely too much and all of this wasn’t even called for. I’m checking my call log thinking something wrong, go check my call log online, because how did I miss this call?? Told her to cancel the entire order, I thanked her, and hung up. You’d think ink it’s all over. NO! The GM had the audacity to FINALLY call me and state “this blank calling from Aaron’s on a recorded line.” Lol hello ma’am, I’m so happy you’re calling on a recorded line, and I told her, I still didn’t want the furniture and asked why didn’t anyone try calling back. You have deliveries set up and you call customers 1 time and that’s it. Why not leave a voicemail? I was told she was unable to leave one. That couldn’t be further from the truth, I have voicemail set up, and it’s NOT full. Of your dropped the ball, cool own it. Don’t argue with customers. Very UNPROFESSIONAL.

In the future I will avoid Aaron's at all costs. Here's why. My fiance and I purchased a NEW washer and dryer set. Neither were in boxes when they showed up. The washer had multiple pieces of tape in various obvious areas, smelled of detergent and had water inside. The dryer had a dent in the back left side as well as lint in the lint trap. Once turned on and spinning, the dryer made a loud grinding sound and didn't dry the clothes very well. My fiance contacted the store and was told she must have made a mistake and chosen "pre-leased" (which is impossible as it requires a process of contacting the location to ensure they have the pre-leased item available) instead of "new". Our lease agreement that was signed online, printed by Aaron's, and received by us upon delivery stated the purchase was for a NEW set. So basically, we were FRAUDULENTLY sold PRE-OWNED merchandise as "NEW" and then called incompetent by the store employee. The worst part is today we witnessed them restocking the same set on the pre-leased floor of the store to be sold again even though the dryer is broken. And when we pointed this out to the store associate (who was the same person that had all but called my fiance a liar), she claimed "they are just moving them to make room in back". Sure. Just temporarily placing them in the exact location they're put to be resold... if thats believable, she probably has a bridge to sell me too. If negative stars were possible they'd get -100☆. Nothing but scammers.

I have dealt with Aaron's for many years. They have quality merchandise and the workers know just about everything in their inventory/ showroom. The workers always try to help u get what you'd like to have. When you don't have the money to go buy things like furniture and bedroom sets, Aaron's is the place.
