The 23rd and Louisiana location in Lawrence allowed an acquaintance of my sister to rent to own an iPhone 17 Pro Max on my sister’s account with zero authorization. When we brought it the establishments attention, Marvin the manager has been very rude, unhelpful and to date done nothing about it. I demanded documentation from the establishment that my sister has been relieved of any financial responsibility aforementioned iPhone and Marvin hand wrote a note on blank printer paper. This is not how a reputable business operates when dealing with an identity theft situation. Consider this a PSA STAY AWAY FROM RENTACENTER

Rent a center in Lawrence has terrible customer service I would not recommend anyone going there my experience has been the worst and the manager does not care about privacy he’ll do anything to get your payment so just be careful if you think about going through them

Latest update: After months they updated my pay period but i was already charged late fees for several months despite several reports to rent a center about my updated pay periods, which they repeatedly never changed. I wanted my late fees refunded for every payment that I shouldn't have been charged a late fee for, starting from the date of when I first reported it until it was resolved. It is not legal to charge late fees because your company neglected to updated the system when it was reported to them the first time and even the second and third times etc. The fact I never heard back about that refund being approved or not in any way, be it cash refund, having it pay for a couple bills, etc but no no one has said a thing. Hence the 1 star reviews and me seriously considering using my legal insurance through my employer to consult with an attorney about recouping what was taken because those late fees were due to rent a center negligence which I've documented, not my own. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The worst experience I have ever had and I've purchased a car from AutoNow! You charge me every 2 weeks but on the wrong pay period, so you charge me a late fee every payment for months. I've reported this several times and have had 2 escalations according to customer service. Nothing ever is fixed though and they don't refund the late fees they've been maliciously charging me.

Never had a problem until I get called while on vacation by some lady telling me I’m multiple payments late which I’m not my last payment was the 15th which is my payment date and I was told that they don’t have the ability in their system to set my other payment to the 31st because I get paid the 15th and the last day of every month today is the 30th and I tell them every time and they give me the classic ok we’ll update it in our system and note it down and they never do so today I get called at 8 Am being told that I’m multiple payments late which isn’t true everything is current according to their and my records I’m getting sick and tired of this my payments are no weekly like I was told they are supposed to be but because there are “more months that end on the 30th” they can’t update it in the system DONT CALL ME AND RUIN MY VACATION BECAUSE YOU GUYS CANT GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND DO YOUR JOB CORRECTLY AND DONT CALL ME AT 8 am ON MY PAYMENT DAY AND TELL ME IM LATE ON PAYMENTS ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC!!!! I’m extremely close to contacting the BBB for buisness malpractice.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a business. They will not work with you at all on payments. We tried to schedule a double payment on my next check and they refuse to do it. They threaten to come get my items as a tool to get me to pay now. This is not how you keep customers. I will NEVER do business with this company again. If I could I would give it 0 stars.
