What to Expect at This Store
Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.
What to Bring
- Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
- Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
- Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
- Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers
How It Works
- 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
- 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
- 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
- 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance
Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:
Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

Very unwilling to work with you when you have struggles like mostly everyone is right now. Very rude and sometimes seems threatening about taking your stuff. They try to make you pay a payment before it is even due and tell you it's their "policy". They constantly call and even call on the day the payment is due first thing in the morning. This is one of the most horrible customer experiences I have had. The furniture and stuff is also not worth what they charge the price is 3 times higher. I will never return to rent a center to make a purchase again after my last agreement is paid off. Also, if you are late they will literally show up to your house multiple times.
If I could give half star or no star I would. I paid off a composter got a bed. I paid the insurance. I ended up being put off work for 6 weeks then light duty for multiple weeks following. I turned in paperwork to file insurance claim with medical paperwork. I emailed all of it they never filed the claim. They know my situation and still trying to take my bed even after calling corporate and escalating the situation, still nothing!! DO NOT GOT HERE!!
I’m not one who typically leaves a review on businesses. However, my experience with rent a center has been the WORST. I unfortunately got COVID and was unable to work. I get paid bi-weekly, and as a married man with a pregnant wife I have other bills to pay. I have to make sure she’s eating, we have enough gas etc. As many of you know we are going through a recession, and it’s very difficult to keep up with life when inflation keeps raising. Anyways, I called rent a center and told them about my situation. They weren’t understanding, compliant, or professional about my pregnant wife and I’s situation. Despite their website advertising ‘the many ways we’ll be able to work with you’. THIS BUSINESS IS A HUGE SCAM. They make their money off of poor people. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM!!! They’ll charge you 3 times the price of a product you could get online or at the store for cheaper (This dirty mattress, and used bed set was $2400). At the end of the day they came and took the bed we had purchased from them even though we were going to pay in full by May 12th. Please if you’re reading this review, I hope you make a smarter decision than we were able to.
Store was extremely filthy, inventory was filthy and/or broken, inventory was strewn everywhere, and I had to make far too many compromises of what I wanted just to get my washer (that I definitely did not want, but would have bought if I absolutely had to) in 2 to 4 weeks. I feel like this has something to do with corporate probably. Staff was polite but unprofessional. Seemed like they were trying to make a sale instead of a loyal customer. Everywhere I looked, red flag🚩🚩🚩
The store is pretty clean. The staff is "ok". But renting to own you will always pay way more than you should. Could be bad for credit if you get something and don't pay the payments on time. A better suggestion for those on a budget would be for you to walk next door for used furniture. Simply more affordable to buy used. But if you really want to gut newer nicer stuff it is an option for you.
