What to Expect at This Store
Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Buddy's Home Furnishings directly to confirm.
What to Bring
- Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
- Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
- Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
- Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers
How It Works
- 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
- 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
- 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
- 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance
Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:
Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

I have lived in this neighborhood for 18 years, and I know exactly what does and does not belong on my street. On Saturday, while I was outside doing yardwork and minding my business, a truck I have never seen before rolled through my neighborhood extremely slow. They circled the block, came back around, and then stopped directly in front of my mailbox. That alone was inappropriate. Two men got out and claimed they were looking for someone with my last name. I told them clearly, I am not the person you are looking for, and I do not have any business with your company. My furniture is paid for, and I do not buy from places like yours!! They then mentioned my sister’s name, a person who has never lived at my address. The furniture in question was never delivered to my home, and I did not cosign for her. There is no reason for your company to show up at my house or contact me. Years ago, your company repeatedly called my phone until I blocked the number. Now, after all this time, you send people to my home as if I owe you something. That behavior is unprofessional, intrusive, and unacceptable. When I called the store, Eric, who is supposed to be the manager, was rude, dismissive, and tried to talk over me. He attempted to justify sending people to my home by saying it was the last known address. That is false!! The last known address should be the location where you delivered the furniture five years ago. Not my home, mailbox & my peace. Eric’s behavior was not customer service. It was pressure, fear tactics, and fast-talking to cover up poor management. He hung up on me instead of resolving the issue, which tells me everything I need to know about how he operates. He may be nice when people are paying, but the moment someone is near the end of their contract, the tone changes. Let me be clear BUDDY’s Do not come to my home again or call my phone. Remove my name and my address from anything connected to my sister’s account. If she owes two more payments, that is between your company and her, not me. Your employees showing up at my house like investigators over furniture is inappropriate and unsafe. There are countless affordable furniture options online now,no one needs to be harassed by a store acting like the FBI. Talking about moving forward, trying put fear in someone over furniture!! If you list someone as a reference, you should not stalk them, show up at their home, or disrupt their peace. This situation was handled poorly, and it reflects a lack of professionalism, boundaries, and respect.
Eric is an excellent manager and truly the person to see if you’re looking for a great deal on quality furniture—regardless of your financial situation. Despite my indecisiveness, he was patient, accommodating, and made sure my needs were met. I walked away completely satisfied. I’ve rented furniture before, and this was by far the smoothest experience I’ve had. From customer service to delivery, everything exceeded my expectations.
Eric and another gentleman came today and moved me out of a second floor apartment into a third floor apartment. I am very appreciative of their patience and kindness for helping make both my old and new home complete. P.S they deserve a massive raise . Sincerely, Kristal Joseph
Eric, the store manager is a swindler! Do not do business at this store for your own good. I returned an e-bike to be repaired over a month ago and even bought the new tire to put on it, paid him $30 for the warranty he said he was going to use and left $75 of purchased accessories on the bike. He said it would be repaired in less than a week. Every week that I call Eric he is rude and obviously not bothered about fixing the bike. He just told me what I wanted to hear when I brought it in so he could collect $30. I have always been on time with my payments. And now that he has the bike he is still trying to take payments from me. I called him about that and he said he took my name off the autopay but he didn’t because I am still being charged. My family has had dealings with him before and everyone of them have had bad dealings with this man. The store is always in chaos, he treats his employees like crap, and he will lie straight to your face and swindle you out of money. When I got the bike it didn’t even have a key to it. I called him about that and he said it didn’t need one. Buddy’s is a scam!
This place is very fast with getting what you need, and if they don’t have it they will get it delivered with no hesitation. and the customer service is amazing very cool people, Devin is the initial person who got me set up with all of my items and gave me a great price for all! I also spoke with Eric when I came in to sign papers his vibe is definitely welcoming ! He’s very knowledgeable with his work and made me feel very comfortable. Ms. Rosey helped me through out signing my agreement papers. She talked me through the whole process and made sure I understood what I was signing. As long as they continue this great attitude and customer service I’ll continue to rent from here! Thank you all! ☺️
