I had an absolutely amazing experience purchasing a sofa from Rent-A-Center, and I can honestly say this was one of the smoothest and most stress-free furniture purchases I’ve ever made. From the moment I walked in, the entire team made me feel welcomed, respected, and truly cared for as a customer. First, the quality and selection of sofas really stood out. I found a sofa that was exactly what I was looking for — comfortable, stylish, and perfect for my space. The staff took their time explaining the features, answering all my questions, and helping me choose something that fit both my needs and my budget. I never felt rushed or pressured, which made the experience even better. What truly made this experience exceptional was the management team. They were understanding, patient, and extremely professional while explaining all the options clearly. It was refreshing to work with a company that genuinely wants to help customers succeed instead of making things complicated or stressful. I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the unprofessional conduct I experienced during a phone call with the manager of the Rent-A-Center location in Homestead, Florida. I contacted the store to inform them that my household no longer needs the bedroom set that was recently rented. During the call, the manager stated that I was required to make the first five payments before the items could be returned. This requirement was never explained to me at the time of rental, nor was I made aware of it beforehand. When I asked about the company’s “Worry-Free Return” policy, the manager became hostile and began yelling at me rather than providing a clear explanation. I calmly reiterated that we no longer need the furniture. In response, the manager angrily threatened to close my account, retrieve all rented items immediately, and stated that I would no longer be allowed to rent from Rent-A-Center in the future. This behavior was extremely unprofessional, inappropriate, and unacceptable for someone in a management position. Because of this incident, I have already filed a complaint with the corporate office. I am very dissatisfied with the service I received and the manner in which I was spoken to. Additionally, after reviewing customer feedback for this location, I have noticed multiple reviews describing similar experiences with this same manager, which suggests a pattern of unprofessional conduct toward customers. I respectfully request that this matter be taken seriously and that appropriate action be taken. I strongly believe this individual should be relieved of his duties as a manager, as his behavior does not reflect the standards of professionalism or customer service that Rent-A-Center should represent. I have never had such a sour taste in my mouth after speaking with the store. I’ve been a loyal customer for years and have always paid on time, so I did not expect this type of treatment especially from a manager. I’m currently in the process of moving and needed to switch my washer and dryer for a stackable unit since the ones I have don’t fit in my new place. When I first spoke with Evelyn yesterday, she was amazing! very helpful, understanding, and professional. She explained the process and said I’d get a call today to finalize the switch and sign a new contract. Instead, I got a call from Luis, the store manager, and as with every previous interaction I’ve had with him, the call was completely unpleasant and unprofessional. He has a condescending and belittling tone, and when I told him that I was hoping Evelyn would call instead because I feel uncomfortable speaking with him, he completely went off on me. He started yelling, saying that if I “can’t have a relationship with him,” the store manager, then I can’t do business with them at all. He even threatened to cancel my contract and pick up the machines that I’m almost done paying off over something as simple as me expressing discomfort with how he speaks to me, and from what I can see in the reviews, all his customers. This behavior was shocking, uncalled for, and completely unprofessional. I’ve already filed an official complaint with corporate, but I wanted to share my experience so others are aware. Rent-A-Center has ALWAYS been good to me until this location and this manager. There’s other locations with better service, go there.

I have been waiting nearly two months for a refund from this store, and despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, I have received no resolution. I contacted corporate twice, and two separate tickets were opened with the promise that the district manager would reach out, yet I have not been contacted. The store informed me that they could not process the refund because the payment was made online. When I called corporate, I was unable to receive assistance, and even when requesting to speak with a supervisor, I was told it was not possible due to unavailability. This experience reflects a lack of accountability and responsiveness, which is highly disappointing. I urge the company to address this matter promptly and provide the refund owed.
